Taken this morning before going to work. My curly twists were so bouncy and springy. I loved it!
This morning, I was so tickled with how my hair came out after sleeping on flexirods all night that after I took them out at around 7 a.m. this morning, I just had to take a pic. Please forgive my sleepy looking self. I’m soooooo not a morning person so I think I pulled this off pretty well. I also wanted to have a picture to compare what my hair would look like later in the day after work.
Then later this evening, I took these pics. I think my hair held up very, very well.

Been ’sperimenting again. This time I was going for that “bump” in the top that is so popular these days. I think I succeeded in getting the look that I was attempting to create. But in looking at my pics I can see that my twists are starting to look rather stringy and I know what that means. Time for a rinse. I think this style will look much better on clean hair as opposed to hair that’s on its last leg and full of old product. Yeah…ewe! Nevertheless, I think this do has a whole lot of potential.

With all of my online endeavers, including this blog Nappturology 101 and my nappy hair care forum cNappymeNow.com, I’ve never felt the need to maintain a Fotki. That is until now. Primarily because I needed a better way to organize and keep track of my photos. Although I just got it going last Sunday, I think I got a pretty good start on it. But I still have a really long way to go cause I gotta move nearly three years of photos over and get them organized into folders and categories.
In the meantime however, if you’re so inclined come on over and check me out, comment and/or sign my guest book. Here’s the link: http://public.fotki.com/Nappyme/ Feel free to add me as a friend and when I get this all figured out, I’ll add you too! I’m not very Fotki saavy at the moment, so if you have some user tips, feel free to share!
Soooo take care, enjoy and hope to see you in Fotkiland!

Y’all I found a new hair accessory. Ok… it’s more of a tool than an accessory. I love it. I’ve actually been looking at this thing for YEARS but never could envision I to use it in my hair. Most likely cause I didn’t have enough length. But yesterday, I decided to buy it at Claire’s (or was it Icing) and couldn’t wait to get home to use it. And when I did, WOW, this thing is definitely a keeper. Makes the most gorgeous ponytails ever! So here’s a quick tutorial that shows how to use it. Enjoy.

High pony
Here’s how to do it with the bandette comb

As you can see, it’s just one of those big combs that can be used to hold really thick hair in a bun or up do. It simply has a band attached to one end.
Stick it in your hair at the spot that you want your ponytail. In this case mine is going to be a high ponytail.
Gather all of your hair and pull it up. See the band on the end of the comb.

I’m going to pull that band underneath and loop it to over the other end.

Here’s the result.

Wallah! A high pony done with a bandette comb.

Ok… here’s my second tutorial with this gem of a comb. In this one I’m demonstrating how to make a side ponytail. It’s really quick and simple. Enjoy!

Anchor the bandette comb on the side of your head.

Pull your hair over to the side and pull the band behind your ponytail. Secure it on the opposite end.

Wallah! A side pony made with a Bandette Comb!

Dress it up with a cute clip

I originally had set my hair OVER NIGHT on flexirods. But my hair is heavily moisturized and it didn’t set the curls in very well, but it does stretch my twists to show off the length and my hair is still curled enough to bend the ends.
