    Hi inmynature,
Once you register, I have to manually allow you access to the board by changing your status from VERIFY to REGISTERED. My turn around time for this can be up to 24 hours. I happen to be on my computer tonight so I’m right here with you. I’ve changed your status and you should have recieved a couple of different emails by now letting you know that you can complete the registration process using the verification code in that first email.

If you have any problems, please let me know at, so we can work this through.

I’ll see you on the boards!

I am teaching a natural hair care class in the public school system. Let’s give this school system a round of applause!!

    This is my favorite subject.

I’d like to join your website to get information to dispense to my 16-19 year old students!!

I’m having an extreme challenge joining from this computer (I actually don’t know how to use “outlook express”).

    Thanks Much

  6. nappyme says:

Hi Ginger. Yeah for being allowed to add a class on natural hair to your curriculum! That’s great. You don’t need Outlook Express to join my hair board. Simply go to to register, and you’ll be able to access my forum.

If you have any problems, please email me at

    See ya on the board!

Hi and thank you so much for a site like this. I am 52, and trying to be nappy and happy. My problem is my hair is so thick that I had to put a lite tex in it to just comb it. Can I still be a member until you can help me became completely nappy. Also, how do I go by doing this without losing the hair I have. I did the b/c on June 29th of 08 and as of Dec. 08 I have over 4 inches of growth, now I think that is some good growing(what u think) and would love too keep my texturizing each 4 to 6 months. My goal is to try to be SL by Dec. of 09. Do you think that the growth I am gettin now I and get to SL by Dec. 09. I have a great hair regiment that is working wonderful for me, and plain to keep it. It’s a lot of good essential oils and 2% MN cream, and flower of sulfur. I have so many friends my age that think that this can not be done, and I feel I can be BSL or longer by 2011 (thinking about being a wifey) to be that long hair bride. If you can give me any help to reach my goal and prove my ole butt friends wrong that would be just great (woo hoo) and look forward to being on the nappy team.

    Hi Sparkle!
Sure you can join if you intend to work toward becoming fully natural. By joining, you’ll have plenty of encouragement and support from lots of other women who are natural and not just me. Trust me when I say this though, if you felt the need to texlax because you couldn’t comb your thick nappy hair, it’s because you don’t know how to handle it NOT because you needed it. There are plenty of thick, nappy headed women all over the world who have learned how to care for and style their hair without the aid of any chemicals or heat. Learning how to do so means you have to throw every notion out of you head about hair care because you’re likely trying to somehow apply what you did to it when it was straight. Highly textured hair like ours just can’t be cared for in the same way. Now I’m not going to try to answer all your questions here. You need to hop on over to and join today. Don’t be afraid to participate. In fact I’m going to open up the transition forum today, so you can post your question there.

Good luck on your decision to become fully natural and I hope I see you on the board.

    Take care and God bless,

  9. Sparkle says:

Thanks for the nice words and I will be posting on soon to get the help I need. As of today no more tex in my hair and will follow the tips I get from the site. One more thing, could you tell me how to post my pics from my fokti album so I can show others my growth,
    Be Blessed

    • nappyme says:

      Hi Sparkle,
I see that you’ve joined us! Sorry that I didn’t get a chance to open up the transitions forum today…other things took my attention all afternoon so I couldn’t get around to it. So if you have questions, go ahead and post them in the General cNapp Discussion forum. Once I get the Transition forum open, I’ll move your thread there.

As far as posting your pics, there’s a thread in the Technical forum that gives some very detailed information about sizing pictures and getting them posted. It’s a three page thread. If you read everything and follow the directions you should be able to post. Here’s the link: . If after you read it and you still have questions please post in that thread and we’ll get you going.

Take care and see you on the board. Other questions, don’t hesistate to send me a personal message on the forum.

    • nappyme says:

      Hi Henrietta,
You can find glycerine at most likely any beauty supply store or maybe even a store like GNC. Try checking for a list of essential oils that may help stimulate hair growth.

      Good luck!

I am on NP as “Netta”. and have been a long time member. I have a Fotki, username “netta315” I get very frustrated with my thick 4 c,d,nappy hair. Detangling hurts and it shrinks right up w/ with products, so thick i break combs, trying to blow dry, it reverts back by end of day! i can’t wait for it to grow longer so i can at least do a pony tail .something, I have about 4 ,5 inch .
